Specialty Stretchers: Folding, Curved, & Non-Rectangular Polygons
Folding Stretchers
Our folding stretcher system, using joints in the stretcher bars and braces, allows for a small amount of canvas to be un-stapled and lets the canvas bend on a radius in order to fold the painting without causing a crease.
Each folding joint adds $40 to the total cost of the stretcher. For example, a 48" x 120" stretcher requires three (3) folding joints - one in each in the two 120" bars and one in the 120" brace - for an added $120 to the total cost of the stretcher. The folding joinery requires minimal assembly and all hardware is included.

Curved Stretchers
Our curved stretchers are fully keyable and made using our standard solid wood bar stock. The maximum profile depth we offer for curved stretchers is 1.5". The minimum diameter for keyable curved stretchers is 24".
Curved stretchers require a $100 one-time Template fee per diameter ordered (i.e. if more than one stretcher of the same diameter is ordered, the Template fee applies only once) and a $50 Setup fee for each unique angle per order for changing over our machine setups for non-rectangular geometry.
Our lead time for curved stretchers is typically 4-5 weeks.

Non-Rectangular Polygon Stretchers
Our non-rectangular polygon shaped stretchers are fully keyable and made using our standard solid wood stock. The cost of non-rectangular stretchers depends on the complexity of the shape. Costs are calculated using the regular price of our standard stretcher bar and brace lengths plus a $50 machine set up charge per each unique angle needed.
